Amy Kae Atelier is the result of my passion for and commitment to living from and developing my creative spirit. I create high quality, one-of-a-kind pieces of jewelry by combining metal and rough stones and crystals that have been left in, or as close to their natural state as possible. My hope and vision for Amy Kae Atelier is to continue to create designs that support each customers personal growth while expressing their style.

Atelier (uh-TELL-yay) is French for "workshop" and in English denotes the work space of an artist in the fine or decorative arts. It's also a word I has loved since I first heard it in design school. I love how elegant and beautiful it makes a workshop, which is usually quite scattered and messy, sound. As a bonus, it also reflects my mostly French heritage on my father's side.

Much of the growth and evolution of Amy Kae Atelier is based on my personal life and personal story. How could it not be...I'm a one woman show here! :) To understand Amy Kae Atelier, I think you need to know a little bit about what drives me, the woman behind the curtain.

I'm a divorced mom of three kids who is committed to recovery and spiritual growth. This juggling act can be quite challenging at times, but I want to thrive, not just survive. I have gone through a complete rebirth over the past 6 plus years and I can honestly say that I grow and learn each and everyday. I bring that growth to my work life and it makes all the difference. There was a time when I was afraid to take this leap, but somehow I did it, and continue to do it. Everyday I show myself, and my kids, that I can live a life that is based on being true to myself and my identity as an artist. Through example, I am teaching my kids that they can follow their dreams no matter what form they take. You really can grow up to be an artist and support yourself and your family. My hope is that they live in a world where they don't ever think that growing up means putting passionate creative expression aside to make way for a "safer" life.

I handle all aspects of running Amy Kae Atelier. Yes, the bookkeeping and inventory tracking is a bit of a drag, but everything else is pretty cool! I choose all of the stones I use based on the connection and energy I feel from them. I can't always express what it is that draws me to particular specimens, but the attraction is undeniable. They choose me as much as I choose them. I also feel profoundly connected to universal love during the creative process. I want my work to reflect the passion I feel for all aspects of life, both "good" and "bad". Each piece I make is filled with the powerful, yet peaceful energy that I feel while working. I use my intuitive gifts and my passion for beautiful design to create made to order and custom designed wearable works of art. With one of a kind pieces that are already made, I don't know who will end up with the final piece. But, I firmly believe that what I am making is for someone in particular. I have seen, time and time again, my working touching specific people. Whether online or in person, my one of a kind pieces have a way of finding their home. I feel honored to be a part of the process.

In the case of custom work, I obviously know who I am making a piece for. I always make a point to connect with them so that I can get a feel for who they are and learn a bit about their goals, lifestyle and challenges. I then can focus on that person and channel love, peace and gratitude for them into the piece as I create it. It's always fun and incredibly fulfilling to do custom work, but, often, I have no idea who will end up with a particular item as I make it. That is when I simply get into what I'm doing and let the creativity and energy flow. It's always amazing to me to hear from people about how they end up choosing these one of a kind pieces that feel like they were made just for them.

A side note about stones and crystals...A stone's "magical powers" lies in it's ability to amplify any energy and intentions that you carry and put out into the world. What you put out is what you get back. Give love and you receive love. Show kindness and compassion and you will see them come back to you in all aspects of your life. These crystals won't bring into your life anything that you don't already possess or aren't committed to focusing on, but will increase the reach of your intentions and enable you to receive back what you put out in ways that you never could have foreseen or imagined.
